General Guidelines
  • Modesty is Key: Wear clothing that covers your shoulders and knees. This is a common requirement in many religious sites across Southeast Asia.
  • Avoid Tight and Revealing Clothes: Loose-fitting clothing is not only more respectful but also more comfortable in the often warm and humid climate.
  • Footwear: Wear comfortable shoes that are easy to remove. Many temples require visitors to take off their shoes before entering.
Recommended Attire for Men
  • Tops: Opt for a short or long-sleeved shirt. Avoid sleeveless tops or tank tops.
  • Bottoms: Long trousers or knee-length shorts are appropriate. Jeans or lightweight cotton pants are good choices.
Recommended Attire for Women
  • Tops: Choose a blouse or a shirt that covers the shoulders. Avoid low-cut tops.
  • Bottoms: Long skirts or trousers are ideal. If you prefer wearing skirts, ensure they at least reach your knees.
  • Scarves or Shawls: Carry a scarf or shawl to cover your shoulders if you are wearing a sleeveless top.
Additional Tips
  • Respect Local Customs: Pay attention to any specific dress codes posted at the entrance of the temples.
  • Weather Considerations: Vietnam can be hot and humid. Lightweight and breathable fabrics like cotton or linen are recommended.
